  • We'll miss you Memaw...

A few weeks ago, we spent the weekend in Talladega with my mother-in-law.   One of the best parts of the weekend was when we sat in her living room and watched the movie, The Wizard of Oz, together.    We laughed at it, we talked about movie trivia (she was a gold mine of movie trivia) and we sang along to some of the songs together.   In memory of a very special lady, this seemed appropriate.

    "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"

music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg

     Somewhere over the rainbow
    Way up high,
    There's a land that I heard of
    Once in a lullaby.

    Somewhere over the rainbow
    Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
    Really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
    Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
    Away above the chimney tops
    That's where you'll find me.

    Somewhere over the rainbow
    Bluebirds fly.
    Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?

    If happy little bluebirds fly
    Beyond the rainbow
    Why, oh why can't I?

    3 4 3

Well...it's been awhile.   I've decided to try a "challenge" to myself for the next 3 months.   I would love to have someone join me...so let me know if you're coming along for the "ride".  :)   If you can join me for all of it--feel free to pick one of the areas and jump in for the experience.  :)   You'll be healthier for it--I promise.   And you can keep me accountable too!

I'm calling this my 3 4 3 challenge.   (Three things for 3 months).   I have a Bible Reading Plan for 90 days (3 months).   In the next 3 months I plan to read my Bible through, drink 3 quarts of water a day (in addition to anything else I drink), and walk 3 miles a day.  Every day. Plus I'm adding one more facet to mine....I'm going on a sugar fast for the next 3 months.   Not a "carb fast", but a "sugar" fast.    I tend to turn to sugar when I get upset or stressed...and that makes it worse.    So while I'm reading my Bible all the way through--I'm fasting off simple sugar.   We're not going to get technical here and get into "hidden" sugar, etc.   I'm just talking blatant, obvious sugar.    I'll share more with you as the 3 months progress...from a couple of books I'm reading, to the names of the people I end up killing over the sugar withdrawal issue.

Anyone want to join me?   In all of it?   In part of it?    Just let me know!
